New Zealand police officers have been forced to listen to N.W.A’s “F*ck Tha Police” song on repeat for several days after an unknown hacker gained access to their broadcast system, local media reported.

Police have acknowledge two versions of the song being broadcasted, the N.W.A band’s original 1988 version, as well as a cover performed by Rage Against the Machine, NME.com reported Wednesday. Police have said that the broadcasts have are “putting people in danger” by potentially blocking police communications, according to Inspector Kelvin Lloyd. Police have accounted for all of their radios and concluded that the culprit gained access to the channel by other means.

“Any interference with a police radio constitutes a risk to public safety, and anyone caught doing this can face a penalty of criminal nuisance and up to one year imprisonment,” Lloyd told the Otago Daily Times.

The song — featuring raps from Dr. Dre, Ice Cube and others — was a protest against police brutality in the U.S.

F*ck the police! Comin’ straight from the undergroundA young nigga got it bad ‘cause I’m brownAnd not the other color, so police thinkThey have the authority to kill a minorityF*ck that sh*t, ‘cause I ain’t the oneFor a punk motherf*cker with a badge and a gun

Police first heard the music Jan. 5, but it continued through the weekend and into this week. Police seem to have no recourse beyond hoping that the person or people responsible stop. The inspector confirmed that the music has already played while he was attempting to coordinate a call response with his officers.

“There’s no question that if it carries on and if they do what they’re doing it will delay a response,” Lloyd said.

This is not the first time the country’s police have struggled with pranksters breaking into their radio channels, as someone broadcasted pig grunts over a local channel in August.
